group Black Eyed Peas has kicked off a "Freedom Campaign" for Nobel Peace Prize
recipient Aung San Suu Kyi with a concert in Bangkok.
On Monday, the group dedicated its song "Where is the Love" to Aung San Suu Kyi,
who has been under house arrest ion Burma since 2003.
The concert was broadcast via uncensored satellite technology to Burma.
Freedom Campaign founder Jack Healey said in a statement the democracy and human
rights activist "stands with the great names of peace," citing Gandhi as an
example.
The Freedom Campaign is a Washington DC-based joint effort of the Human Rights
Action Center and the U.S. Campaign for Burma.
Aung Sam Suu Kyi won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 as the leader of Burma's
National League of Democracy.
